Canwest announced the primetime fall schedules for both Global and E! Canada today. While The Best Years will be returning in Canada it will also move networks as well.

Season 1 aired in the summer of 2007 on Global (Canada) and The N (USA) and became a hit with audiences. Now in Canada, Season 2 of The Best Years will air in 2008-2009 Fall primetime on E! Canada.

The Best Years, Season 2 will return on E! Canada on Tuesday nights @ 10 PM EST most likely in September. Currently The N has not released any information about the return of The Best Years in the USA.

Edit: I would just like to point out that The Best Years is a Canadian show like Degrassi and Instant Star and is a joint production with Canwest (parent of Global & E! Canada) and The N. This is similar to how Instant Star and Whistler are Canadian productions with both CTV and The N jointly producing the show.

In the off chance no one knew this or didn’t know the Canadian broadcast channel NTV serving the Newfoundland and Labrador area is airing season one of The Best Years Saturday nights at 6:00 PM.

Currently the channel is up to Ep. 106. Here is the upcoming schedule for this week and next:

6:00 PM 5/3 Ep. 106 “Girl Interrupted”

6:00 PM 5/10 Ep. 107 “Shadow of a Doubt”

The N will air an episode of The Best Years on Monday, April 7, 2008. Episode 107 “Shadow of a Doubt” will be the first episode of The Best Years to air on The N since they went 24/7 back in December.

Hey guys. Best Years Online decided to change things up a bit and go with a new layout. Thanks to Dylan for the lovely layout and to Joe for coding it for us. Best Years Online also is running on WordPress now instead of Cutenews. WordPress is a whole lot easier to use for both the staff and you guys.

The forums will be down until Friday, April 4, 2008 @7:30 PM. We are working hard to improve the forums for you guys and make your experience more enjoyable here at Best Years Online.

Also Joe has made two new link back buttons for the site. They are really cool so check them out.

Season 2 has been confirmed! Global (Canada) orders a second season!

Yes you are reading this correctly, Global, the Canadian broadcaster, has ordered a second helping of The Best Years.

So all those pesky Season 1 was it rumors can go out the window. Speculation can now resume in our forums about Season 2. Will Sam give Trent a second chance? Is Devon gone for good? Will Noah and Katheryn get a second chance? So much drama to look forward too I can’t wait!It is expected that The N will air the second season but with it’s rocky line-up lately who knows. (Instant Star doesn’t have a Season 4 premier date, Whistler has aired its second season in Canada but not here.)

Something we here at Best Years Online overlooked in January 2008.

TVGuide.com is usually pretty reliable on what they report and one concerned viewer asked Matt Roush over at TVGuide.com about the decision to cancel The Best Years. Keep in mind this was written in late January 2008 during the Writer’s Strike. (Although since it is a Canadian show I don’t know how a US Writer’s Strike would affect it.)

Question: I have been searching vigorously for any information on the return of The Best Years on The N. Rumors abound that the show was canceled; claims have been made that one of the show’s stars reported the cancellation on Myspace, but there is no proof that the Myspace report is legitimate. Can you use your know-how to unearth the real fate of this show? I am a huge fan of and have been signing the petitions for its return, but I think we both know how much success that really has. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.— Louis, Hazlet, NJ

Matt Roush: I checked in with someone at The N, who assured me that no decision has yet been made. Like most everything else in the land of TV, The Best Years (a title that hardly applies to 2008 just yet) is in strike limbo.

The results are in! Portrait Magazine held their annual ship awards last month.While The Best Years didn’t land in the Top 10 you the fans put up a good fight.

Out of all the lovely TBY couples to ship the fans voted Sam & Trent #18 beating out couples from shows like Kyle XY, Smallville and Friday Night Lights

Sam & Devon made #26 on the list beating out Spinner & Jane from Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Noah & Kathryn landed at #28 on the list. They beat out Degrassi royality like Jimmy & Ashley and Peter & Darcy .

Dawn & Devon rounded out the couples for TBY. They landed at #42 out of a total of 44. Dawn & Devon beat out Katie & Tumelo [Life is Wild] (#43) and Birdie & Marcas [Beyond the Break] (#44) For the full article and the full list please visit Portrait Magazine!
